Influences from society and politics, as well as the ever-increasing consequences of climate change, have led to an increased focus on sustainability and an active contribution to achieving climate protection targets, particularly in recent months. For RINNEN, sustainable business practices and socio-economic management have been a consistent part of the corporate strategy for many years. We see high service quality, a willingness to innovate and responsibility towards the environment and our employees as essential prerequisites for future-oriented, successful growth.
Did you know, for example, that RINNEN has had ECO training courses for drivers firmly established in its training program for over 10 years? And that since then, together with annual investments in modern tractor units, we have been able to reduce the average consumption per 100 km from over 32 to currently just under 27 liters?
With the decision to introduce the energy management system in accordance with ISO50001 in 2016, RINNEN underpinned its claim to a leading market position in this segment. By continuously measuring and reducing energy consumption, significantly optimizing wastewater and waste volumes, raising employee awareness and the possibility of balancing CO2 emissions at transport level, RINNEN has already demonstrated its responsible use of resources many times over. In order to position itself clearly in the future and to send a clear signal both internally and externally, RINNEN 2023 successfully introduced an environmental management system (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 in addition to the existing certifications.
After almost 6 months of preparation, the certification audits for the RINNEN Group at the Moers, Maxdorf, Troisdorf and Constanti sites in Spain were due at the beginning of October. After a demanding audit, it was clear: RINNEN was able to impress and has successfully provided proof that it has implemented the requirements for an environmental management system in accordance with DIN ISO14001. Now, as with any management system, it is important to continuously develop it further, to fill it with life and to make maximum use of it for itself and the company.
So let’s get to work…
